Thanksgiving in Barcelona
Culture, Food, & Shopping

Barcelona always appeals!

November is perhaps one of the best months to visit the city, the heat decreases along with the crowds and we can visit the city in WOW mode. When you add everything that we have prepared for you on this trip, the result is a LESMON EXPERIENCE.

Trip Dates: Saturday, November 18 – Saturday, November 25, 2023

Here we go!

A perfect start to your week!

A driver will greet you at the airport and bring you to your  hotel in the center of the city. You’ll have time every day to enjoy the services in the first vegan spa in Spain including massage, facials, sauna, steam baths, and more. There is a gym so you don’t need to sacrifice your daily routine (and no judgment if you take a skip week!) and you’ll enjoy the best views of the city from the rooftop. We’ll have a workshop with a Barcelona beauty expert who will teach us a step by step skin care routine. Our expert will help you identify what type of skin you have and how to choose the products that will suit you best. Enjoy a glass of cava while you learn all the beauty secrets but don’t forget that a therapeutic massage awaits you at the spa at the end.

What are we going to do in Barcelona?

We’re going to visit world-class museums including the Miró Foundation and European Museum Modern Art, MEAM. We’ll be in the city for some fun, annual events: modern art festivals Drap-Art (sustainable art) in galleries and cultural spaces in the Gothic Quarter and Open Night in the Poblenou neighborhood art galleries, cultural centers, and creative studios.

We will see the architecture of Antoni Gaudí: Casa Batlló, the Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera. We’ll visit the Palau de la Música and the modernist San Pau site by architect Domenech i Montaner.

We’ll travel in the Montjuic cable car with impressive aerial views of the city to reach Poble Espanyol, an open-air museum of the architectural and cultural essence of Spain, built for the Barcelona International Exhibition of 1929. Here, we’ll enjoy architecture, crafts, contemporary art, great food and live music.

Are we leaving the city?

SitgesWe will leave the city of Barcelona two times. We’ll visit Sitges, an extremely gay-friendly city and one of the most popular tourist destinations for the LGBTQ community. While there, you’ll get to make new lesbian friends from the Colors Sitges Link, a popular LGBTQ collective who will serve as our hosts in the city of Sitges.

Our second outing will be to go Christmas shopping to La Roca Village, an open-air shopping center with pedestrian streets, a chic atmosphere and more than 150 boutiques from fashion brands with discounts of up to 60% on the original price, plus you can enjoy tax free.

Is it time for the famous Barcelona Christmas Lights?

At the end of November, the spirit of the holidays begins to take root. The spectacular Lighting of the Christmas Lights will take place while we are there. This is not just any event. The lights themselves are spectacular and will take your breath away, but this is Barcelona, so there will also be all sorts of fun, free surprises organized by the city council including live music, circuses, shows, and more.

Being in Barcelona in November during the switching on of the Christmas lights means that you will be one of the first people to walk through the beautifully illuminated city. Every year the design is more innovative and it will surely surprise you.

Don't Miss Out!

This will be a wonderful trip filled with unforgettable experiences.

What about food?

paellaWe promised you food. Get ready. You are going to eat what is considered the best paella in Barcelona. We’ll be at the restaurant that all the stars go to when they’re in town. People who have been there in the past? We can’t name all the names, but we can tell you Susan Sarandon, Harrison Ford, John Wayne, Ava Gardner, Maria Callas, even famous artists including Picasso and Joan Miró have eaten in this restaurant.

On the last night of our adventures together, we are going to celebrate a Thanksgiving that you will not forget. We have a private chef, David, who has worked in restaurants awarded with Michelin stars in Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, and Strasbourg along with our award-winning bartender, Mariona. Mariona is a cocktail champion in Catalonia and runner-up in Spain; she is the creator of her own Pessigolla vermouth, vice president of the Club del Bartender de Catalunya and Trainer and Coordinator of the cocktail area of ESHOB (Escola Superior d’Hosteleria de Barcelona).

David and Mariona have created a custom menu for us of amazing tapas perfectly paired with select cocktails. AND they are going to teach us how to make all of it! You can take these recipes home to recreate for your holiday parties. You are going to be the envy of everyone in your circle.

On the nights in between our paella experience and our Thanksgiving extravaganza, you’ll have the opportunity to to sample the diversity of Barcelona restaurants. We will give you a list of the best restaurants in the city, everything from cool and casual to fine-dining at Michelin starred establishments. You simply tell us where you want to eat each night. We’ll make the reservations and help you with transportation to get there.
