While Thanksgiving is not traditionally celebrated in Spain, the holiday season begins to kick off in November. Visitors can experience the festive atmosphere as Christmas lights start to illuminate the streets, and holiday markets begin to pop up around the city. Additionally, many restaurants and cafes offer special seasonal menus, providing an opportunity to indulge in delicious Catalan and Spanish cuisine.

With this program, you’ll have ample free time to explore on your own, as well as opportunities to participate in group activities, such as a private workshop with one of the city’s top chefs. During this workshop, you’ll learn to prepare an authentic paella, craft traditional sangria using red wine, and indulge in Catalonia’s beloved dessert, the Catalan cream.

Day One: Barcelona, ​​Spain Nov 22

Welcome to Barcelona, the city of dreams, where art and history go hand in hand.

City of contrasts, where the old and the modern embrace each other.  A city of sophistication, celebrating diversity and coexistence. City of color, where the light of the Mediterranean Sea illuminates the city.

After your arrival at the airport, your private driver will greet you and escort you to our hotel, situated in the heart of the city. Nestled in the trendiest LGBTQ neighborhood of Barcelona, our hotel is just minutes away from modernist architectural marvels, vibrant restaurants, lively terraces, and art galleries. It’s also conveniently located near the best shopping areas. 

After check-in, you will have free time to rest and settle in. 

Day Two: Barcelona Nov 23

After breakfast, we will visit Casa Batlló, an incredible building built in 1877 by Emilio Sala Cortés and renovated by Antoni Gaudí in 1906.  Casa Batlló is renowned for its unique and imaginative design, characterized by its undulating facade, vibrant colors, and organic shapes. Gaudí’s design reflects elements of Catalan Modernism, with intricate details inspired by nature.

Day Three: Barcelona Nov 24

Museu Nacional d'art de catalunyaToday we will take the double-decker tourist bus to go to the MNAC Museum (National Art Museum of Catalonia). From there, we will visit Poble Espanyol, where we will see architecture, crafts, contemporary art and leisure activities, a true monument that includes 117 buildings that replicate constructions from practically all Spanish regions. All styles are represented in them, from Romanesque to Baroque. After this visit, we will visit the Joan Miró Foundation. We will end the day on the tourist bus route doing the complete circuit or you can return to the hotel, if you prefer.

Day Four: Barcelona Nov 25

This morning, we will visit the Palau de la Música Catalana, an architectural gem designed by the Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the Palau de la Música Catalana is renowned for its architectural significance and contribution to Catalan culture.

In the afternoon, after lunch, we will visit another significant museum, the Picasso Museum.

Day Five Barcelona Nov 26

After breakfast, we will meet our private guide for a walking tour of the city, exploring the Gothic Quarter and the Born neighborhood to uncover the secrets and mysteries of these historic areas. Our guide, Almudena, will pause during the tour to treat us to delicious chocolate with churros at one of the city’s oldest chocolate shops. Once we have recharged, we will continue our exploration, with the tour concluding in time for lunch.

Day Six Barcelona Nov 27

Today, you’ll need a hearty breakfast to fuel up for a day of exploration in Barcelona’s most enchanting spots. Comfortable shoes are a must for walking ahead.

We’ll kick off our day by meeting Almudena, our private guide at Sant Pau Recinte Modernista. This stunning architectural complex, originally built between 1902 and 1930, was designed by the renowned Catalan architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It stands as one of the finest examples of Catalan Modernist architecture, boasting multiple buildings and pavilions adorned with intricate designs, vibrant mosaics, and ornate details inspired by nature.

After our visit to Sant Pau, we’ll continue our architectural journey with a visit to the Sagrada Família. This iconic landmark is a testament to the genius of architect Antoni Gaudí. Construction on the Sagrada Família began in 1882 and continues to this day, funded solely by private donations and visitor ticket sales. We’ll have the opportunity to climb to the top of one of its towers, offering panoramic views of Barcelona.

Note: even though it is a basilica, the visit has no religious content, it is about marveling at the incredible architecture.

Day Seven: Barcelona Nov 28

After breakfast, we will visit La Pedrera, officially known as Casa Milà, is one of Antoni Gaudí’s most famous architectural masterpieces in Barcelona. 

When La Pedrera was first unveiled, its avant-garde design sparked controversy among locals. Many found its unconventional appearance shocking and dubbed it “La Pedrera,” which translates to “the stone quarry,” due to its rough, rocky facade.

La Pedrera, a must-visit destination for architecture enthusiasts and visitors to Barcelona alike.

After the visit, we will have free time until the afternoon, where our famous private chef will be waiting for us for a special workshop to celebrate Thanksgiving, preparing 2 types of paella, one mixed and one vegetarian. In addition, we will also prepare red wine sangrias and the famous Catalan cream.

Day Eight: Barcelona Nov 29

Shopping Day.

This morning, you will board an elegant bus to the town of Roca del Vallès, located approximately 30 minutes from Barcelona. There, you can indulge in shopping at the finest stores offering top brands at discounted prices, including perfumes, shoes, clothes, accessories, and more. It’s the perfect opportunity to prepare for Christmas gifts, and the area also boasts excellent restaurants. Get ready to feel like Pretty Woman!

Afterward, enjoy your free time. If you wish, you can leave your purchases at the hotel upon your return and spend your last afternoon visiting some of the city’s Christmas markets.

Day Nine: Barcelona Nov 30

Yes, almost everything comes to an end, and today marks the conclusion of your trip with Lesmon in Barcelona. After breakfast and at the agreed time, your driver will take you to the airport so you can catch your flight home.
